Pontardawe needed a win following defeat at home to Afan Lido on Monday but the game started in the worst possible way. After 10 or so minutes defender Steven Cox went over on his ankle with what looked like a nasty injury and limped out of the game to be replaced by Rob Fulford.

The game was not the best with both sides struggling to make any clear cut chances and it wasn't until the 59th minute until the 1st goal arrived. Fortunately it was for Ponty and it came from a run down the right by Mark Nappieralla who cut inside and smartly passed the Bridgend keeper give Ponty the lead.

There were some dodgy moments to follow as the light faded but an excellent cross from Garry Taylor was met by Chris Allen who headed past the keeper to give Ponty a 2-0 lead which they maintained until the final whistle.

The three points brought Ponty back to within grasp of 12th place and the fact that we have a positive goal difference is good news indeed
