Town's
disappointing start to the season
continued
with some poor errors against a Goytre team who will be flattered by
this scoreline.
Goytre took an early lead
after 8 minutes with a goal for Richard Ryan. Town matched Goytre all
over the field and an Andrew Stokes shot hit the post after 15 minutes
but it took 38 minutes for the equaliser to come from
Mark Nappieralla penalty after Goytre keeper
Chris Curtis pulled Richie Evans back. Immediately Goytre took the lead
again with a Dale Griffiths speculative effort.
The second half was poor from a Town perspective and Goytre took a 3-1
lead with another from Ryan but they were again pegged back by Ponty
after Andrew Lewis's first goal for the club after 72 minutes. Amazingly
Town again left Goytre in and Ryan got his hat trick. Just 5 minutes
later, with Town the better side, Mark Nappieralla hit a brilliant
penalty after Richie Evans was brought down in the box. Once again
Goytre immediately scored with Dale Price getting their 5th. Again Town
went on the attack but Ryan got his 4th of the game to give a final
score of 6-3.
