Welsh Football League Division One
Weather - Sunshine and
showers A strong and efficient Afan Lido side travelled to the Swansea Valley and immediately took control of the game with a 4th minute close range tap in by Matthew Herman. This was a gift to Lido following mistakes in defence. Lido had the upper hand for most of the half and increased their lead with a 20 yard strike from Andrew Mumford and then, following another defensive mix up, Gavin Jones was gifted a goal. To their credit Town continued to battle and pulled one back with a well taken free kick by Mark Nappieralla. The second half was a more even contest in which Town played better and caused Lido a few problems. The turning point was a penalty by newly signed Sam Wade which would have made the scoreline 3-2 but Lido's keeper Chris Curtis saved down to his right. The final nail in the coffin was as a result of another defensive error by Town which allowed Mumford to get his second Town move on to League Cup duties
next week and will be looking to improve our fortunes when we travel up
to Llanwern on Saturday for a 2:00pm kick off. A DVD of the game is available
